KidsConnex
Helping Children Navigate Family Changes
A supportive virtual program helping children ages 7–12 understand their feelings, develop healthy coping skills, and adjust to changes in their family.
About KidsConnex
KidsConnex is a two-session virtual program for children ages 7–12 who are experiencing family transitions, including parental separation, divorce, or the breakup of a parental relationship.
Through supportive, age-appropriate activities and discussion, children have opportunities to express their feelings, better understand the changes happening within their family, and develop healthy ways to navigate those changes.
The goal of KidsConnex is to provide children with a supportive environment where they can explore their thoughts and feelings, strengthen coping skills, and recognize that they are not alone as their family adjusts to change.

Tides of Change
Children explore how their family may be changing and discover that they are not alone. Through discussion and the story of Tugboat Tom, children have opportunities to ask questions and better understand their own experiences.
-
Taking Good Care of Yourself
Children identify trusted adults—or “lighthouses”—they can turn to for support and learn strategies for managing negative thoughts, practicing positive affirmations and choosing healthy activities that build confidence and resilience.
Parent Connection
-
After each KidsConnex session, parents participate in a 30-minute Parent Connection designed to help them understand and reinforce what their child has learned.
